No one is yet in a position to judge whether former Bear Stearns hedge fund managers Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin's attempts to make money were criminal. I suppose, though, I should not be amazed that criminal culpability is first laid at the feet of Wall Street, and not on top executives at the firms that made the questionable loans to begin with -- for example, the folks over at Countywide. But Cioffi and Tannin are
not alone in being prosecuted, despite marquis news coverage that might lead one to believe the contrary.
